The Stone Island x Beams collection celebrates the Japanese stalwarts 50th anniversary with a military inspired drop of Stoney’s legacy fabrics.
When you’ve been in the game a while like me you get an eye for what’s going to hit and what isn’t. This latest collaboration from Stone Island & BEAMS is one of them comes around every 5 years type of collab. As a Japanese exclusive & from a UK perspective, it’s got that whole North Face Red Label thing about it, and when somethings not directly available in your region it only adds to the desirability. In celebration of BEAMS Japan’s very first store in Harajuku, Tokyo which opened back in 1976 as ‘American Life Shop BEAMS’, Stone Island has now teamed up with the legendary Japanese store for a very special 50th anniversary release. Marking their very first collaboration together, the drop features a collection of military inspired silhouettes which utilises the compass logo’s legacy fabrics.
Featuring a prototype jacket from Stoney’s archive, the never-seen-before sample silhouette features a classic military style as well as two of Stone Island’s most renowned fabrics, Raso Gomato & Nylon Metal, alongside transparent coverings. Introduced in a garment dyed khaki green colourway, which features unique hues & tonal contrasts, other highlights of the jacket includes large flap pockets to the front, reinforced tape & the iconic compass logo to the left sleeve.
Alongside the jacket there’s also a pair of pants & a t-shirt as part of the 50th anniversary release. Sticking with the military inspired theme the pants feature a codura (cotton nylon) fabric, again in a garment dyed khaki green colourway, which highlights the multi-layered colour gradations through the complex pocket structure. Finally a Stone Island x BEAMS cotton t-shirt is also thrown into the birthday celebrations which boasts a nylon metal pocket to again highlight the garment dying process and the contrast of the fabrics. Each style comes in an relaxed fit for that classic Japanese streetwear aesthetic with colourway inspiration from military greens, something which Tokyo has championed since the 90s. Available exclusively from the BEAMS Harajuku store on September 5th 2026.
